Adding a PPP interface - how?

Hi,
this seems very simple but I can not get my Samba server to broadcast
through its PPP interface.
My Samba server has two interfaces: eth0 (130.151.17.154) and ppp0
(130.151.17.211). On the other side of the PPP link I have another
Samba server with two network interfaces as well: eth0 (172.17.0.10)
and ppp0 (130.151.17.193).
I want Samba to broadcast through both interfaces but so far everything I've
tried has failed misserably.
In the Samba server with interfaces in different sub-networks (172.17.x.x
and 130.151.x.x) I have:
interfaces = 172.16.0.10/255.255.0.0 130.151.17.193/255.255.255.128
and it works _fine_ (broadcasts are sent through the PPP link).
However, on the server with both interfaces in the same sub-network I
have tried several combinations for "interfaces = " like:
interfaces = 130.151.17.154/255.255.255.128 130.151.17.211/255.255.255.128
interfaces = 130.151.17.154/255.255.255.128 130.151.17.193/255.255.255.128
interfaces = 130.151.17.154/255.255.255.128 130.151.17.211/255.255.255.255
with no luck at all (no broadcasts sent through the PPP link as seen
by tcpdump-smb).
I think the problem comes from the fact that _both_ interfaces _are_
on the same sub-network (130.151.17.0, netmask 255.255.255.128).
However, Samba doesn't allow to specify interfaces by name so how the heck
I can tell Samba to broadcast through my specific PPP interface, or
putting it in different words: through different interfaces in the
same network???
Thanks in advance for any help.
