SOLUTION: Windows 98 (beta 2) and Samba

To enable the plain text passwords in Windows 98, add the following line to
your Windows registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VNETSUP]
"EnablePlainTextPassword"=dword:00000001
Don't forget to reboot your machine afterwards. Now you'll be able to login
from Windows 98 to Samba server without switching to encrypted passwords.

P.S. Instead of updating the registry manually, you can also save the above
two lines as, for example, WIN98.REG files and double click on it.
