Hello All,

We state the following problem:

Mounting a disk on the server and starting a MS Office95 application,
either by double klicking the corresponding file or opening the file
within the application, the file (*.doc, *.xls, *.ppt or *.mdb) is not
opened, windows hangs and you have to reboot the PC. In some cases
(powerpoint) a message like 'File or directory is write protected'
appears, even if you mount the disk as root user.

This problem arises with Samba version 1.9.16p7 and 1.9.17p3.
No problem with Samba Version 1.9.15p6.

Our configuration:

Server: Workstation IBM RS6000, OS AIX 3.2.5 or 4.1
Client:  PC, OS Windows95
Protocol: TCP/IP

File smb.conf:
[global]
   printing = aix
   printcap name = /usr/samba/printer_liste
   load printers = yes
   status = yes
   guest account = lpd
   password level = 2
   debug level = 0
   log file = /usr/samba/log.%m
   lock directory = /usr/samba/var/locks
   share modes = yes

[homes]
   comment = Home Directories
   browseable = no
   read only = no
   create mode = 0750

[printers]
   comment = All Printers
   browseable = no
   printable = yes
   public = yes
   writable = no
   create mode = 0700
   print command = /usr/bin/qprt -r -dp -j0 -P%p %s

Do You know this problem? Are there any flags in the config file
responsable for the problem or exist other flags to avoid the problem?
Please let me know.

Thanks
