Please set your mailer to plain text.

BASE-64 shows up as a hex dump in the Digest mode, and is not readable 
on many e-mail programs.

There is supposed to be a filter on the samba mailing lists that removes 
all base64 and other non-plain text content, but apparently it is not 
working completely.

Plain-text is the only mail setting that will work with all e-mail 
systems, mailing lists and news groups.

Also replies and forwards should be in-line, not as attachments, or the 
mailing list is supposed to remove them.
