Samba server appearance in browse list

I found that the lists were sticky.  The fix was to restart the client
workstation
(sometimes twice) and the service would then appear.  Refresh didn't do
the trick.
I'm using Windows XP and workgroups.

Start -> My Network Places -> Entire Network -> Microsoft Windows
Network ->

(Named workgroup) 

That should then display the node list which would include something
like:

Samba 2.2.7a (nodename)
