JYC Samba VMS/Alpha 2.2.7a usage problem report

Background:

Successfully built and installed JYC Samba 2.2.4 03-Oct-2002 release
on VMS/Alpha V7.3-1 w/patches, TCPIP V5.3 ECO 1
on DEC 3000/300LX.  Test access using XP workstation
and Windows 2000 PDC works ok.

Problem:

Used same build techniques for JYC Samba 2.2.7a 02-Jan-2003
release in above environment, gets following error message
when attempting to select the Samba server from XP workstation.
Same SMB.CONF file.


XP error message:

\\node is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this
network resource.
Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access
permissions.

Windows cannot find the network path.  Verify that the network path is
correct and the
destination computer is not busy or turned off.  If Windows still cannot
find the
network path, contact your network administrator.
