It was a virus.  The mailing list software removes most types of 
attachments.

The virus may not be forming the attachment properly so that the removal 
may not have been complete.

The mailing list operators at SAMBA.ORG are probably adjusting the spam 
filters to remove more of these viruses.

The subject line you quoted is one of many that family of viruses is using.
