Thanks a lot for the quick reply.
 
What does "--with-shared-module=rpc_mdssvc_module..." do differently to "--enable-spotlight"?
 
Would I then and up with one samba package, that would only work properly when there is also a tracker or would that tracker be optional?
 
Sorry fir this maybe dumb question, but I did not get the trick...

./configure ... --with-shared-modules=rpc_mdssvc_module ...
