4.9 patch for bug 13616

I have a backport for https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13616 
(see attached)

If someone could have a look that would be great (andrew was looking and 
signed off the master patch but is on vacation at the moment) I am a bit 
unsure about the ldb version part, do I need to do anything extra there 
(besides the version bump) ?
