thanks for looking into this.

How can this actually fix this anything here? `wbinfo --sid-to-gid` fires a
WINBINDD_SIDS_TO_XIDS request to winbindd and then directly prints the result
without queyrying the group database. Did I miss anything?

Iirc it did fail. I ran across that error after fixing 686fc4126dc5. That fix
exposed this problem.
