I totally agree.  This isn't tested and is a massive overhead per
login.

I'm sure there are users not running winbindd - many think they need to
use it for nss to use it, and there are some subtle behaviour changes
when you turn it on by memory, but I still want to see auth_domain
removed.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be any more un-used functions to remove,
but this much is still a win.

Just wait a little for other comments, but in the meantime:
