Thanks for sending in that patch. 

In terms of the changes to wafadmin, we do try hard not to change that
but to instead get the changes made in upstream waf first.  There is a
github branch where Thomas Nagy, the author of waf, is trying to get us
to work with a more recent version, but I'm not sure exactly where that
is at.

We do realise that the hostcc stuff is really not well baked, most
folks using Samba cross-compiled seem to use MIT Krb5 on the target
platform instead, or avoid Kerberos entirely. 

I realise that doesn't really help you get your patch merged.
