Metze: Thanks for the details and the pointers.  I'll look...

Martin: It sounds promising, but I need to get some slightly crazy stuff
working fairly quickly (as I described in Göttingen) so I'm going to plow
ahead and see what I learn along the way.  Hopefully, I will be able to be
of benefit to the effort in the long run.
