I think the root of the confusion here is that the joining DC (the
client) is responsible for creating the DNS entries. So which joins
which makes a very big difference.
Additionally, while in general changing the server can cause the client
to behave 'better', for this case, this patch set doesn't change
anything on the server side.
Indeed, what this patch does is ignore our 'be like windows' axiom, and
instead chooses the alternate path of 'do something that works',
because 'be like windows' was just not reliable for administrators.
