Perhaps I am wrong but it is my understanding that LikeWise
authentication does not support any version of Samba beyond 3.6.

This indicates, I believe, that Samba was unable to talk to your crazy
Likewise stuff to translate a SID to a UID/GID so it does tend to
indicate that Likewise is not working for you.
You should really consider using Winbind.
