In this context I was talking about the first level of indirection
i.e. redundant nameservers, not redundant data shares.

Something like \\<domain>\dfs -> \\<host1>\dfs
                              -> \\<host2>\dfs
                              ...

With each host being a nameserver, holding pointers to other hosts and
shares where the actual data is stored.
