Either I am being stupid (highly possible) or there is no difference
between the lines you are proposing to remove and their replacements.
In fact the only problem I can see is a grammatical error in line 17
of the patch:

Please note that this parameter does only affect <emphasis>rpc</emphasis>

It should be:

Please note that this parameter only affects <emphasis>rpc</emphasis>
