Yes, I'm referring to thevtread re sending the request twice.  Thank you for the correction.  If anyone has traces smb1 v smb2 , that would be helpful.

I was not aware (still am not aware) of any bearing this feature
(configurable prefix) might have on [MS-SMB] - the prefixes are
internal, translated from the canonical @GMT-xxx format.

Do you refer by any chance to a different thread, where Jeremy found out
that when you list snapshots in SMB1, you have to do it twice, once
without getting the names and then again, with getting the names?

traces, but it shouldn't be hard to provide some if that would help.
