The patchset doesn't change the current situation: since 4.3 if you
configure with --enable-spotlight, you'll pull in glib. If you don't,
you don't.

I have another patchset (mostly ready) that reintroduces loadable RPC
modules (because that's where this gets actually used in the mdssvc
RPC service aka Spotlight). But iirc metze said there wre reasons to
remove this future in the past and this shouldn't be
resurrected. metze?
