Not sure if that needs explaining, but...  :-)

Yeah, auto-detection used to make sense.  I guess we used to
automatically build Samba with cluster support when the CTDB development
files were installed.  However, now that CTDB is in-tree and Samba
shouldn't be built against other versions of CTDB, auto-detection no
longer makes sense.
