The approach I would like to use to cover build failures across
environments that differ from our sn-devel 'gold standard' is to have
proposed Samba patches submitted via a free alternative to
github/travis-ci. I am investigations options here, and I will present
those when I have a working prototype I'm happy with.
Just a system would allow us to ensure that a build and make test passes
not only on sn-devel, but a variety of platforms, including if you are
interested, whatever platform and options you are using. In particular,
I hope it would change us from being reactive to proactive in this
regard.
