Issues 11097 and 10980 do impact users, but neither are regressions -
they are equally broken on 4.1, which is where our users first saw the
issues.  I've backported the patches and verified it passes our tests.

All that said, I agree with the above assessment - we can't wait for
everything forever, and we have waited for far to much for far to long
with this cycle.  We really need to work out a way to get these release
cycles shorter.
