I can't find the records now, but my memory is that your 'remove subunit
and replace with just 1k of python' patch set didn't pass autobuild when
I last tried it.  Can you get me a branch that does, so I can again
review it?

The reason for my renewed interest is that I've just had another patch
set fail because tests that clearly do pass for Kamen don't pass on
sn-devel, probably due to different subunit versions.
