I looked into this a little, while wondering what the extra interface
documented in MS-DRSR was. There is this strange preparescript
interface, and what is done is that a bulk XML set of changes is
uploaded, to be done in a single transaction.
That allows the massive set of updates required to do a rename to
happen 'at once'.
We don't provide that interface yet, but it would be interesting to add
(but I don't have any plans, patches welcome etc).
