A symbolic link should do it. On our system we have Samba installed in
/opt/local/samba4. We have /opt/local/samba4/var as a link to
/var/samba. I find that browse.dat is located in /var/samba/cache.
Of course that moves everything in /opt/local/samba4/var to /var/samba.
I expect that you could just make a link for the cache directory.
