Hi Marc,

I assume that this is a different issue, but I didn't verify this.
But you can try to reset the debug setting via
kill -HUP <pid of the process that writes to log.%m>

The patch fixes the nmbd (only).

If you have success with this, than the reason could be similar to the
one in bug 10239.
