Dear Funke,
As what I know using the classical upgrade are way faster :)
But you need to have ldap access or the smbpasswd.tdb and also the old smb.conf form the old server :)
That all :)

Hi,
i dont want to update the old Samba. This just a test environment where I want to import Users from a .csv.
Isnt there already a howto which explains the different steps?

Martin

Did you had a Samba NT4-domain before:
Then why not using the classicupgrade process?
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/samba-tool/domain/classicupgrade/HOWTO
Or is this a new complete new setup any you want to populate your directory:
Write a small shell script iterating through your *.cvs file and creating the accounts with 'samba-tool user...'.

Marc
