Hi, why don't you use the smbcli function found in source4? I've been working on implementing these instead of the libsmbclient calls in a fuse fs, see: https://github.com/stefbon/fuse-workspace/blob/master/module/smb/smbcli-shares-sync.c I've only implemented the lookup, getattr and opendir calls.
