Yes, this is discussed in coreos-dev@ already:!topic/coreos-dev/qbVrYpDUtG8

In short, this is definitely something docker guys should include,
given that there are already ways to pass through the socket for
sd_notify to see.

On our side, we are doing exactly what is expected.
