[PATCH] Restore use of secrets.ldb password for OpenLDAP

This patch assists the OpenLDAP backend effort, by reverting the removal
made in aabda85a2fc9f6763abd56d61ff819012f2225ad, but does so in a way
that is less intrusive on the normal use case: It does not trigger
lookups and log messages when we are not using an LDAP backend. 

Please review and or push.
