Where is Samba heading these days?

That, for sure, is my obsevation too. A lot is going on.

Although I am not a developer, I do have a suggestion.

Jeremy had a presentation at Fosdem earlier this year and he made clear that
Samba 4 does not have the option to authenticate against an openldap backend.

I have seen a thread in which openldap provisioning is discussed, so that
seems to be good news for openldap authentication.

On the other hand, however, openldap authentication is not mentioned in Samba
Next Goals. I suggest to add openldap authentication to the description of the
goals.

I wish you all the best in your efforts to achieve Samba 4.
