[PATCH] AD DC fixes

Attached are some small AD DC fixes, including:
 - a fix to dbcheck that came out of the subdomain work
 - a provision fix which helps in the subdomain case
 - a typo fix

I'm trying to drain some of the patches that already work out of my
work-in-progress trees.
