winbindd issue

Hi,

I am facing a issue , if winbindd is defined to respawn in initab file .
winbindd is running , no if I comment it out from inittatb and do *kill
-HUP 1 * , this should kill winbindd , since init will
send SIGTERM to  winbindd , and since its handling SIGTERM should terminate
itself,

I see that's not happening , debugged with strace and found that init is
not sending SIGTERM to winbindd why that could be ?

Linux : 2.6.28.9
Samba: 3.5.1

Anyone has any clue why it could be ?
