I wholeheartedly welcome this one.

Still now in 2013, we still find smb.conf files lying around where
users have "fine tuned" socket options with parameters "found on the
Internet"....and applied settings well suited for Linux kernels in the
90's on top of Linux kernels of the 21st century..:-)

I couldn't even bet that I don't have such  cruft lying around here or
there on my  own servers.

So, clearly discouraging this is a great proposal.
