RID numbers increase too quickly?

Sure! FWIW I tested this by adding accounts and watching the RIDs increase sequentially past pool alloc boundaries, as well as tracking the pool allocs to validate they happened once per pool size.Though I'm assuming you mean a reproducible functional test, yes, that sounds tricky esp. considering the pool alloc could happen on a separate instance.

Thanks for you patch and bug.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to look into
this soon.  The patch looks trivial, but I would like to work out a way
to test this if possible, which might be more tricky.
