Debian testing seemed not to like my net ads join command

Hi folks,

I was joining a Debian Testing system (7.0) to a W2K08R2 AD DC and
kept getting problems that looked like time outs.

It kept saying no such file or directory. In the end, it seemed to be
that my Debian system was trying to use mdns to look things up.

When I disabled mdns (in /etc/nsswitch.conf) things started working again.

Is this a known thing? Should it be in the wiki?
