Thanks for any assistance you can give, these kind of interop issues are
always a challenge, and it would be good to know if there are anything
else we should do or confounding factors, or perhaps a client change to
better handle the zero read response.  Arvid (CC'ed) was the original
reporter and was able to reproduce this, as per the subject the details
