To be honest those patches are lying in my git tree for quite a long 
time I suspect that I started with the first one to check that there is 
no regression in the test suite and then I did the second one but in 
theory you're write if I make the default in loadparm then the 
selftest.pl modification is not needed.

Feel free to push only patch #2.
