I didn't say it's a requirement, I said "what about", meaning that I
think it's better if we had

That's not this but you admitted that you have limited time for this and
some seems to be worried of what if a huge bug happens, having someone
else who in theory should have more time (because his job is related to
samba) might reassure some people.
