Based on the debug logs, this could be the patch for the real issue. 

Of course, I'm curious as to what a client is asking for, that it wants
an NT4 name for, that isn't actually an object with a username and
domain, the other info I asked for will shed more light on the topic.

If want, you can try this patch instead of the talloc_zero fix, it
should fix the actual issue (verifying that for me would be very
helpful).  (Of course, the end result will be to apply both, to stop a
small logic error being a segfault).  Otherwise, I'll await the db
info.
