Sorry, not an x86 vs. amd64 problem at all. My amd64 system had an older iniparser. Appears that this is an incompatibility with anything newer than iniparser-3.0b which is apparently no longer available @ http://ndevilla.free.fr/. The Samba build fails with both iniparser-3.0.0 and iniparser-3.1.0. Chris
