server services and dcerpc endpoint server parameters

I figured it out. If I start

# samba

then smbd is not started automatically. But if I start it by

# samba -D

(the -D is default, if it's right, what --help says), then smbd comes up
together with the samba process. Is this a bug? Then I can create a bugreport.

And smbd also doesn't start, if the PID file
/usr/local/samba/var/run/smbd-fileserver.conf.pid exists (regardless if smbd
is already running or not):
[2012/06/25 11:51:20.504841, 0] ../source3/lib/pidfile.c:154(pidfile_create)
   ERROR: can't open /usr/local/samba/var/run/smbd-fileserver.conf.pid: Error
was Die Datei existiert bereits

Regards,
Marc
