Hi Matthieu,

Though I have the bind installed in each server, the resolve.conf is
pointing the win DNS, so unless there's somewhere else I should be
setting this to get samba talk to the right dns, it should be done.

About the query, it's quite different as the win DNS shows the A records
for every name entry. The most important difference is the one regarding
the domain itself:

WINDOWS:

   Name=, Records=12, Children=0
     A: 192.168.2.59 (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=600)
     A: 192.168.2.71 (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=600)
     A: 192.168.128.206 (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=900)
     A: 192.168.128.207 (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=900)
     A: 192.168.6.55 (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=600)
     A: 192.168.128.55 (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=600)
     A: 192.168.2.55 (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=600)
     NS: srv-mm.montecarlotv.com.uy. (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=3600)
     NS: ads1.montecarlotv.com.uy. (flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=3600)
     SOA: serial=15545, refresh=900, retry=600, expire=86400,
ns=ads1.montecarlotv.com.uy., email=srv-mm.montecarlotv.com.uy.
(flags=600000f0, serial=0, ttl=3600)
     MX: correo.montecarlotv.com.uy. (10) (flags=600000f0, serial=0,
ttl=3600)
     TXT: "v=spf1 mx ip4:208.43.134.184/32 -all" (flags=600000f0,
serial=0, ttl=3600)

SAMBA

Name=, Records=0, Children=0

About VPDC, my appollogies as I forgot to mention that is an old test
that is offline now and I deleted from the domain but it seems there's
still a reference somewhere I can't find to remove. Anyway, this record
is just in the sambaDC1 as the sambaDC2 is a later deploy and has no
refference of the VPDC. SambaDC2 has the exact same problems, so this
shouldn't be the problem.

Regards,

Juan Pablo Lorier
