Hi Jelmer, hi everyone.
The user home directories are automounted. NFS follows symlinks on the
client. The folders they point to are also autofs'd. Windows follows
symlinks on the server. But only if we set
unix extensions = No
and wide links = Yes
It seems that one can't have both. Securely.
Summary:
NFS follow symilnks on the client
cifs follows symlinks of the server
Is that the problem?
Cheers,
Steve
