Planning beta8 soon

Given the now-fixed segfault on startup when upgrading installations to
beta7, I propose to make an beta8 release tomorrow.

If you have found any other issues with current master (particularly
regressions) please let me know so I can try and fix them for an
improved beta tomorrow.
