Built and installed 4.0.0beta7-GIT-1219eaf

ps_mem.py says this:

  71.2 MiB +   5.5 MiB =  76.7 MiB       named
  82.8 MiB +  57.9 MiB = 140.7 MiB       samba (14)

That's much more like it :-)  I'll report back after a few days but 
already that's way better than before.
