Problem with joining a Samba3 box as a member to an upgraded Samba4 AD domain

Hi Ricky,

First up sorry for the double-send of that message, I accidentally sent it from the wrong "From" address to the samba-technical list and had to send it again, then later realised I'd also sent both to you.

Thanks for your reply. I also sent it to the list, so we'll see if there's anything coming through there too.

Kerberos is installed and kinit works fine, but you have touched on something for me to try though - while DNS is served from the same box, it listens on a different service IP address. I'll try moving that over to listen on the same IP as the S4 instance. I'll be over at this school at it again later this morning (yes I know it's a Sunday!) and will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the advice.

Regards,

Andrew

Not sure where you have started or how far you have made it, but you need kerberos installed on your S3 box, also make sure to use your S4 server as your nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf...

I will say that I have never tried to join samba 3 to a ADS or samba 4 domain, so I will not be much help on this. :( sorry.
