samba 3.6.0 cannot map share from Windows XP

I have joined samba to a windows native 2k8 domain. When I
try to map a share from a WinXP client joined to the same
domain I get NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD. Windows 7 client
joined to the same domain works fine.

wbinfo also fails authentication

# wbinfo -a native2k8\\administrator
Enter native2k8\administrator's password:
plaintext password authentication succeeded
Enter native2k8\administrator's password:
challenge/response password authentication failed
error code was NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD (0xc000006a)
error message was: Wrong Password
Could not authenticate user native2k8\administrator with challenge/response

There is a windows 2000 domain that is trusted by this
domain and using an account from that domain works

# wbinfo -a qa-2k-mm\\administrator
Enter qa-2k-mm\administrator's password:
plaintext password authentication succeeded
Enter qa-2k-mm\administrator's password:
challenge/response password authentication succeeded

Anyone else run into this problem or have a suggestion of what to
try?
