I see no need for a feature freeze or branch, and in particular I do not
see any impediment to your DNS work. Our culture of automated testing,
and the continuous integration provided by autobuild has given us a
series of high quality alpha releases so far, and I see no need to
change that successful pattern.
If someone has plans for a major disruptive change, no matter the
impending release, we should discuss it here. We can always change our
mind regarding branching (even retrospectively), but even better would
be to work out what tests would help resolve any concerns.
