Hi;

I am a new user to samba and configured a password server for AD authentication. The authentication is fine and the windows client is authenticating without asking for the password. We want samba to authenticate to AD by requesting a username and password and authenticate to windows AD only without caring about unix passwords. It should not look for unix authentication. Please find my smb file enclosed.

security = server
        password server = 140.163.233.107
        wins server = 140.163.18.230
        name resolve order = wins hosts bcast
        log level = 3
        log file = /tmp/logs/samba/%m.log
        max log size = 3000
        socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192
        dns proxy = No
        read only = no

        [samba1]
        comment = Shared data
        path = /samba
        msdfs root = yes
        read only = No
        create mask = 0770
        directory mask = 0770
        public = yes
        browsable = yes

        Thanks for your help in advance.
